The Annual General Meeting of the Alliance Française in Kilkenny takes place in the Club House Hotel, Patrick Street Kilkenny on Monday 6^th November 2017 at 8.30pm. This is an important event for all members of the Alliance Française and we encourage you all to attend.

It is important to note that to vote or be elected you must be a registered member of the Alliance Française de Kilkenny but if you have not yet joined you can pay your €10 on the night.

The Agenda for the AGM is as follows:

1. Minutes of the last AGM
2. President’s Report
3. Treasurer’s Report
4. Election of Officers
5. Any other business

This year we will have the presence of Thierry Lagnau new Directeur Géneral of the Alliance Française de Dublin (and for all of Ireland) as our guest at the meeting.

Finally after the meeting finger food and some wine will be served and we can meet, mingle and converse.

So  let’s hope we see you at the AGM at 8.30 on 6^th November.

The talk on Anjou had to be postponed because of Ex-Hurricane Ophelia but it will now take place on Wednesday 25th October 2017 at 8.30pm in the Club House Hotel. Come and discover the sights, history and tastes of this wonderful region.

It promises to be a really interesting and pleasant night!

Our October Soirée Culturelle is taking place on Monday 16th October at 8.30pm in the Club House Hotel.

The presentation will be Ballade en Anjou (A journey through Anjou) by Gerard Margat, and will explore the landscape, history, geography and food and wine of the region which includes the Loire Valley. You may be familiar with it from driving or cycling there and will be very interested to get an overview and new insights from a very knowledgeable native. There is a rumour that we may even have some local wine to sample to make the experience as immersive as possible!

So, come along on Monday night 16th October at 8.30 to the Club House Hotel and re-discover the Loire.

Advanced notice also of our AGM on 6th November and of course we celebrate the arrival of Beaujolais Nouveau on 16th November and keep 15th December free for our Christmas Party.

A reminder also that if you are free on any Thursday morning call in to the bar of the Club House Hotel for the Coin Francais for coffee and a chat in French.
