Cookery Courses in South West France


An exciting opportunity has come up to learn French cooking and improve your French at the same time in an idyllic setting in South West France.

Some years ago we had a Chef and teacher Cedric Moreau in the Alliance Française Kilkenny and together we organised classes on Improving your French by Learning to Cook which proved very popular. Since then Cedric has returned to France and has taken over a Water Mill and turned it into a cookery school.

He asked us to let you know about the cookery classes and how to improve your French through these. A group of us are contemplating going on 25th April and there are others who wish to form a group to travel on 21st April for the five day course flying to Bordeaux, so let us know if you wish to join either of the groups.

But perhaps you and a few friends or classmates would be interested in forming your own group? There is a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 16. DAY 4-Like day 3 but optional free transport to Jonzac leisure centre-water park and Casino, after lunch

During 5 days stay there will be extra local activities proposed depending on the season like;
1 extra cooking session, Oyster opening techniques and tasting etc.

Our cultural evenings for 2016 are kicking off this week. The first takes place on Monday 18th January in the Club House Hotel at 8.30. This is entitled: “Everything you ever wanted to know about L’Averyon but were afraid to ask!” by Pauline Rigaldie. Aveyron is a department located in the north of the Languedoc-Roussillon-Midi-Pyrénées region of southern France, named after the Aveyron River. Join us for a comprehensive introduction to this beautiful region of France from a proud resident!

Alliance Française Kilkenny plaque unveiled

We were delighted to be joined by Director of the Alliance Française in Ireland, Philippe Milloux for the unveiling of our new plaque at the Club House Hotel on Thursday 4th June, 2015.

The Alliance Française Kilkenny has been based at the Club House Hotel, Patrick Street for many years and it’s about time we had our name on the wall! Many thanks to Katharine who sourced the artwork and provider of our new plaque.
